Mind Vacation

Taking a mind vacation is a technique for clearing your mind of worries and relaxing your body.

Begin by reducing distractions, interruptions, and noise for 5-10 minutes. Sit comfortably and begin to relax. Put your feet up if possible. Close your eyes and begin to breathe slowly and deeply.

Mentally focus on a peaceful image or a favorite place. Try not to let other thoughts enter your mind. If they surface, relax, breathe deeply and begin again.

Imagine the sounds you might hear at your favorite spot, the smells, and any other sensations.

When you have completed the exercise, stretch and exhale. With practice, this mind vacation technique can help you feel refreshed and ready to face the next challenge.
