- Single family home
- Condominium or townhome
- Apartment for all age levels
- Senior apartments
- Mobile home community park
- Active adult community
- Retirement community
- Continuing Care Retirement Community
- Assisted living
- Nursing homes
Let’s start by clarifying the difference between three housing options:
- Retirement communities have independent living in apartments, condominiums, and single-family homes for active adults, usually 55 years old or older. They provide amenities such as meals, activities, transportation, and other services.
- Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC), also known as Life Care Communities, have housing options that include independent living in villas, condominiums, or apartments. In addition, they have assisted living and skilled nursing home in the same facility.
- Assisted living housing facilities provide supportive services for activities for daily living (ADL’s) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, eating, and medications. Other services are provided to help people live independently.
